Ingredients:Black tea, Pu'erh Black tea
About:There are many notorious smuggling locations in the Newquay area, but the Tea Caverns, located on the headland between Fistral and Towan Beach were the most renowned. The Tea Caverns as so named, was where they smuggled tea up the tunnels to the town from stricken cargo ships that were lured in the rocks at night. Tea was a much prized commodity that would reap rich rewards for the smugglers and whilst avoiding the excise men, became very much a Cornish past time.
Brewing: Always use freshly boiled water. The taste will vary depending on the amount of tea used and how long it is steeped. Longer = stronger. If left too long the tea may also turn bitter.
