About: Long before Europeans travelled to North America the indigenous people valued Echinacea as a medicinal herb. The Ute referred to the herb as ‘elk root’, as they believed that wounded elk ate the flowers as medicine. Echinacea tea can soothe a sore throat and minimize aches and pains caused by the common cold and flu.
Brewing: Always use freshly boiled water. The taste will vary depending on the amount of tea used and how long it is steeped. Longer = stronger. If left too long the tea may also turn bitter.
